I guess you mean the shortened group name that is displayed next to the username along with every post of that user? Well, administrators and moderators have some kind of special meaning to a board, they have more tasks and rights than others. So it is commonly seen that users of those (and mostly only those) groups are "tagged" accordingly. This is hard-coded in the forum's source code. If you want to expand this "tagging" to other groups, you'll have to modify the code to do that. There is no simple user interface because there is no simple general rule how it would be evaluated. What if someone is in 4 groups that would be "tagged", should all 4 be displayed? What preference rules should be applied? And so on. This is a very specific solution that cannot be handled in a generic way.
