My predictions seem to be holding up pretty well.  :D  AOL, Wordpress, Livejournal and a ton of little guys are supporting OpenID now.  I really think OpenID is well past the experimentation phase at this point.  Here's a list of providers out there: http://wiki.openid.net/OpenIDServers

/M, I don't know what it is that you are talking about.  The only method I've ever seen for this is what Yves has done.

Perhaps next time you could elaborate a little?  :)

I just ran it through a validator and I see only one minor thing.  See for yourself.

Yves, have you considered supporting a different or multiple graphic libraries?  A lot of web apps use Imagemagick instead of GD because its more flexible.

Quote by meenxo:
I want the topic to open up in a new POPUP window. Can someone tell me how I make this possible with the scripts below?
...
POPUP
<a href="#forum" onClick="javascript:window.open('LINK_TO_TOPIC', '3', 'width=815,height=530,scrollbars=1,left=0,top=0');">
Didn't you just do it there?  I don't understand your question.  (Nor do I understand why you would want to use popups, I've always considered them rude and clunky.)

This isn't directly an answer to your question but more of a general troubleshooting tip:

1. Install the Firefox Web Developer extension
2. Click on Images then Find broken images

For example:
   1. http://newsboard.unclassified.de/unb_lib/designs/modern/im…
   2. http://newsboard.unclassified.de/unb_lib/designs/modern/im…
   3. http://newsboard.unclassified.de/unb_lib/designs/modern/im…

Subject: Database performance
As Yves knows (as he frequents my board), the Psi Forum performance is horrible since its been moved to a new server.  The new server is faster, and in fact all other parts of the Psi website, including those which use a database, run an order of magnitude faster.  Except for the forum which can sometimes take upwards of 5, 10, more seconds to build the page.  Sometimes it will timeout.  This seems to be sporadic, right now I'm getting 2.7-4s page load time, which is ok.  (A "light" db page outside of the Forum can load in under a second easy).

Can anyone point me to PHP, mySQL or Apache tuning information which might apply to my issue?  I know that UNB really thrashes the database (50 queries to generate a page sometimes), so that is probably the choke point.  But as I said, my other db apps run fine.  I don't know what might be different about UNB, aside from the heavy usage.  But even as heavy as it is, something else is going on.

System:
3Ghz Intel 1GB RAM (neither approaching full load)
CentOS 4.3
Kernel:    2.6.9-22.EL
Apache 1.3.36
PHP 4.4.2
mySQL 4.1.19

Ok, I see the different URL.  http://forum.psi-im.org/forum.php?req=rss&type=1&f… did what I wanted.

What does the type parameter do?

Subject: RSS feed questions
Are there any options for what is included in the RSS file?  For example, I tried using this url:

http://forum.psi-im.org/forum/5;?req=rss

I was hoping that it would include the most recent articles just from that one forum, but it seems that all updates from all forums was output.

I couldn't find anything in the docs or FAQ, or by searching here.

Other requests:

  • specify number of articles returned
  • RSS feed for new/updated threads, as opposed to posts
  • I don't like the "re: " prepended to the titles, where is that string defined?

I'm not sure how to find this out.  I was just reading through an error log while looking for something else.
