Welllll... I understand that this is a very big issue if want to be able to interchange data between different tools, web-applications etc.
But maybe it might be a good idea to start with something more simple? I guess most in here would be happy if unb could share the login data with another (in most cases even only one) web-application. First thing to come in mind is integrating unb into a CMS.
For this purpose their might be (as far as I understand) a much simpler aproach.
All you need to do is make unb look up the common (or shared) data (like login name, id, real name and the state of being logged in) in the CMS database. Furthermore there should be a way to have unb installed as a "CMS-integrated" forum which will disable the login and logout function as well as all functions to change these common data. This way there might be a way to have only ONE table (and as unb should be part of the CMS it would be the CMS' table for these information).
Basically: if there is a way to have all the common data being controlled or managed by the CMS it should be a lot easier.
