Okay, this is undocumented, I think. Yes, the Reference item was supposed to show what translation yours is based on. Mine are not based on anything, I wrote them new. Yours is then based on the English translation. You could write the language you're translating from and the last edit date of the base file, so that you can easily compare the English file with yours and see if something has changed (only by comparing the date).

Ok. Now I understanded. And corrected it. The correct translations are attached to this message.

Quote by Yves:
You wrote a last edit date in your files. This was 8 digits, with no separators in between. If you do that (like I do), nobody will have a chance to know what digit has what meaning. Where's the year, where's the month and is it a date at all? The only way to be sure about that is the only way to make it comparable by numbers. The biggest value first, the smallest last. That is the format YYYYMMDD (year, then month, then day).

Hummmm...  Now it's clear... Just a mistake propagated by "copy & paste"...  :-D

Corrected, on the attached files.

I attached the translated plugins too. Any problems, please contact me.

Regards.

I've published this file on the downloads page. Are you also translating the plug-ins like in other translations for 1.6?

Yes. I'm working on it. I priorized the "core" translation and I'm guessing I'll have all the plugins translated this week (maybe on monday, but not a promise)...    ;-)

And what is your reference (what translation is yours based on)? It's certainly not a primary translation by me... ;)

Well, I don't know if I really comprehended the meaning of reference, but I translated all the files from english. Is this a reference? I thought that reference was an earlier version on the same language... May I use English as reference or just remove that line?

Quote by Yves:
And the date format is YYYYMMDD, not YYYYDDMM (or is there a month 20 that I don't know about?...)

  I really didn't understand this...

Oh, one more thing. About the problem of change the language on the other screens. Do you have any information about it?

Regards.

Subject: The translation is here!
Hi everybody,

Here goes the Brazilian Portuguese translation for the version 1.6.1 of UNB.

But I'm having a problem here. During the instalation, when I change de installation language, the first page changes correctly to Portuguese, but the others are still in English, and so is the rest of the board. I change the language on "General Settings" and the problem persists. And the problem isn't with the Brazilian Portuguese language only, as I tried to change to Deutsch and remains in English. Am I doing anything wrong here?

Best regards.

Frederico

Subject: Brazilian Portuguese translation
Hi everybody,

First I would like to congratulate Yves Goergen for this excellent forum. I really like it. In fact, I liked it so much that I would like to colaborate translating it to Brazilian Portuguese...    ;-)

But I'm having a problem here. The translation instructions says that: "all translations are located in the unb_lib/lang/ directory, each in its own subdirectory, named after the ISO 639 2-letter language code". But there isn't a "2-letter language code" for this translation, as I'm doing a Brazilian Portuguese translation. If I use the 2-letter code, it will conflict with the European Portuguese (as both of them are PT). What can I do?

Best regards
