duplicate username

Subject: duplicate username
Today we saw a strange think we think  could be a bug. Really it's not a programming bug; well, the scenario is that I'm administrator in my forum, yesterday another user registered with a valid username, but in his account data he changed the username and put the same I have. Obviusly he can't do the same I can because he hasn't my pass, but I'd like to repair this and avoid duplicated usernames. I searched in the forum and I couldn't find  similar case.

I'll try to repair it, but do you know a way to do it easily?

We resolved it altering the table unb1_Users and adding unique index to Name field.

Did you allow your users to rename themselves or has that been there already? Because it shouldn't. Also, the uniqueness of a login name should always be enforced, I'll look into it.

This was a bug and it is fixed now. When a username is changed, the new name is tested for uniqueness like it is done when registering a new user. It will be included in the next software release. Thanks for the hint!
