Subject: Search option for open threads.
Hi,

I have read many reports here and looked in this forum but did not find my anwer...

My questions is:
Is there a way to run a search for open threads only ?

I am used to close threads when they are solved but when a forum gets larger the 'open threads' are hard to find, it is somewhat time consuming.

There is a way to use the "Special queries" in the search page, but I would like to see the option for "All open threads"

I hope you have an answer for me  :)

Hello Paul,

Would you mean to specify open threads (i.e. not closed threads) as an additional condition or as the only search condition? The first option means a separate check box on the search form page.

Hi Yves,

Does not really matter to me.  I don't actually need to have it implemented in the forum as a link or button.

As long as I know what URL to type to get the results of the 'open threads'.
When I use for example  "/forum.php?req=search&nodef=1&Special=open&ShowHidden=1&ResultView=1"
Then I get also closed threads...  so, if you happen to know what to use instead as link then it would also be ok to get the 'open threads' so I can look them up quite fast !   :)

But a button or link would be even nicer in the "Special queries" !!!  :)
Like:
Special queries
Current topics since last login
    All current topics since last login
Unread topics
    All unread topics
All open threads
Current polls - New poll votes
Current topics of the last  1  3  7  days  Topics I have started
My posts
Topics I have posted to
Recently viewed topics
