Domain problems during UNB installation

Subject: Domain problems during UNB installation

I would like to perform a fresh install of UNB on my server (it's a rented server, I don't have physical access to it). The problem I'm experiencing is (example data):

I uploaded unb to a "unb" directory on the server.
I put http://www.mydomain.yoyo.pl/unb/install.php into address bar, installation screen starts.
After entering required information I click "Continue installation" button and the following error appears:

Not Found
The requested URL /unb/install.php/ was not found on this server.

The interesting thing is, address bar shows this:
http://www.yoyo.pl/unb/install.php/?step=3&SetupType=1

Obviously it's pointing to the wrong place ("mydomain" is omitted), but why? And how can this be fixed?

@why: What's the content of SERVER_NAME in php_info() or home_url in board.conf.php respectively?

@how: Put the full domain into board.conf.php. This file is read during installation if it exists.

Your main website looks like it has certain RewriteRules in effect that modify the URL. This seems to be applied to the /unb directory as well. Could you please check that?
