Users without email addresses
how can this happen?

Subject: Users without email addresses
Hi,

Running a database check I noticed that I have a bunch of users without an email address. Can someone explain how this might happen? Emails are required to sign up - is it possible for registered users to remove the email later? Is it possible to forbid this?

There has been a change in the database layout (or more precisely: the useage of two e-mail address fields) a couple of years ago. I'd have to look up the details, but the pending and the validated e-mail address have been changed somehow. It might be that there's a bit of a mess left over from that, although the installer should have cleaned it up at time. There's more threads about this topic in the forums from some time ago.
