Thank you in advance for your translation! :)

Just as a note: Did you use the latest development version for your translation? It has quite some texts changed and I will release version 1.5.3 in some days. That just saves you updating it twice then.

Ops!!  :red:

No I didn't.
I'm using 1.5.2-d.

Can I use the dev version language files with 1.5.2-d?

Thanks

No, you can't. Well, of course you can, but some texts may be missing. I'd recommend you to use the latest development version for translating, you can use these files with version 1.5.3 then, it won't change anything. Today's devel version (which I will pack in a while) should be quite stable - at least it's stable enough to run two communities, one of them is this one. :)

Subject: 1st version finished
Hi all.
We just finished the 1st version of the Portuguese (Português) translation.

I'm certain there must be a lot of mistakes in there ;) but we tried the best that we could.
We translated all the files, if someone finds a mistake there, please report to me so that we can fix it.

Thanks!
Pedro

Thanks a lot! I just took a quick look at it:
  • The Registration Agreement Terms are quite short. Is portuguese really so efficient? ;)
  • 'use_php_mail' in pt_more.php is missing
  • 'btn_new_ann', 'btn_new_ann_key', 'btn_new_ann_keyname', 'last_visit' in pt.php are missing
  • There are old and unused keys 'btn_new_msg', 'btn_new_msg_key', 'btn_new_msg_keyname' in pt.php. This looks like a partial upgrade to 1.5.3. :)
  • The help page may be translated, but the index and alphabetic sorting are wrong now. Well, doesn't matter so much, I fear I have to massively update the help page anyway since it's quite old now... :(

Besides these small issues, can I include the translation into the upcoming release or would you like to have it perfect first? :)

If I would like to correct it first?
Yes! I really would like to do that first.

If I will be able to do that in time?
Now, that's a completely different question. :-D

I will correct those mistakes, but i now that it will take some time.
So, if you don't mind, I think it's better if you use it "as is".

This looks like a partial upgrade to 1.5.3. :)

You are correct. :)
I already had started with the translation when you "advise" me to use the dev version.... I guess I was to lazy to properly check the differences.  :red:
Sorry about that.

Keep up the good work!!

You might be interested in the docs/tools/synclang.php tool in the programme archive - I could find the differences very fast this way. :)

Thanks!

i just tested that!

What a great tool.
It's going to be really helpful.

One other thing:
We did not translate the Registration Agreement Terms because we need it for a forum with sooooo many items on the agreement that I create a static page just for that. :)
If you wish I can (eventually ;) ) translate your standard agreement.

Hm, I need to check that standard text again. Actually I'm not a lawyer and copied the text more or less from another board... Well, everyone's invited to criticise the current formulation so we can find something that really makes sense. :)

Olá!

Posso falar o bom português aqui?

Bem, como anda o processo de tradução do CMS?
As últimas mensagens são bastante antigas, o aplicativo até mudou de nome, mas como vai a tradução?

Hi there.

I'm also from Portugal (Coimbra, more exactly) and I just installed this board on my home server. I was going to work on a european portuguese translation when I saw on the download pages that it was already being worked on. I'd like to ask for the translated file to test it and offer my services to improve the translation already being made.

Cheers! :-)

You can see a draft version some posts further up. I haven't heard anything about it since. If you like to start a new translation, I'd recommend you to use the latest 1.6 development version since a lot has changed and the old 1.5.x files cannot be used as-is.

I'm starting to translate using the english 1.6 version as a base.

PS: There's a small error in line 323 of common.pgp ("Thos" instead of "This"). If I find more, I'll keep you posted. :)

Thanks. 1.6 RC 2 is out since today already, so this will be fixed in the next release.
