Subject: A little more suggestions
Oh am I requesting too much? But hey this is a suggestion forum ;-)

1) [Is it a bug?] When an announcement (on the very top of page) was mark as read, the message (announcement) will disappear from view right? Subsequently a link "Show all messages" will appear. After clicking the "Show all messages", the announcement will re-appear but the problem is there is a link "Mark as unread", should it be "Mark as read"? So we don't have to click twice to hide the announcement again....

2) I noticed that when a forum has disallowed guests to download attachments, shouldn't that mean they can't download ANY types of attachments, even images? I noticed that .bmp works just right (guests can't view), but not with .jpg & .gif (not sure about .png) they are displayed somehow when guests has no right to view attachments...

3) [Just added] Hopefully there's an option for admin to disallow attachment uploading in a particular category/forum(s) and the ability to specify which file extensions are allowed for attachments...

these are (indead) more bugs than suggestions...

# no it is not a bug i think. if you click 'show all messages' you want to view the read message, not mark it unread. in this way you have the option to view it once. when you visit the forum later it should be gone, because you have not set it as 'unread'

Oh I see so 1) can safely be ignored~

Thanks løde for clearing my doubt, wow after knowing it I found it to be a particular neat function.. :)

1) is intended, right. If there's something to mark it read, so that it doesn't show up automatically again, so I thought there must also be something to mark it unread again...

2) Hm, yes, this access right does not apply to images that are displayed inline. To display an image inline, it must not exceed some dimensions I'd have to look up now. But they're something like less than the average window size. I could change that, but I wouldn't want to make a new option for that. Some discussion, please. :-D

3) You can only specify the maximum attachment size per forum or thread. The list of allowed extensions can only be defined globally. (Reminder: don't allow uploading of anything that could be executed, like php or asp, in this version!)

2) The access right should have applied to images too, imho. So no additional waste of bandwidth because the option (access right for attachment downloading) is there for this purpose right?

3) In which version?? I can't see an option to specify the allowed extension in version 1.5 stable @@

3) You can change this in the config file directly, currently. There's no user interface for this list in 1.5 by now. This change came too late to make yet another change to the text resources.
