Hi,
as nobody seems to have made themes by now I'll upload my modification. Ist mainly the Modern, but with little changes - everything a bit smaller and so on. I'll keep on working on it - there are still a few things, I don't like. As we have quite a big Forum my main Focus was usability.
I'd be pleased to read your comments.
Morty

@Yves: I tried to obay the GPL, but it's quite hard. I didn't comment the files without a copyrightnotice.

Is there a URL where we can preview the design?
Is this something like IE compatible or so?
What exact problems are there with the GPL? Afaik, you only need to preserve the original copyright note and re-release it under the GPL. (I'm not a lawyer though.)

Didn't test ist too much by now. Should work, though as it is based on your Theme

As to GPL 2 §2.a I have to add a notice that I have changed the files and when. As the tpl-files don't have any copyrightinformation I didn't do so.

I see, looks like mainly a font size change.

Well, there are file formats that do not allow embedding of license information, like some images, or where it's not recommended for technical reasons like performance. I guess in those cases, it's enough to put a license information file somewhere in your package or so.

Subject: XML Error
Unless I'm skipping a step here..

I upload the theme into the "designs" folder, choose it in the menu in Board Appearance, hit save...and in Opera, the following is displayed:

Error!
XML parsing failed

XML parsing failed: syntax error (Line: 1, Character: 0)

missing root element

IE just shows a blank window

Try a different browser that uses the Gecko rendering engine, such a Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape, and see if that cures the problem.

I'm not supposed to use both the first and third browsers with this skin?  If it doesn't even work with IE, why bother to use it?

Do you think it makes a diff that I'm using 1.6.3?

That should read, "Reason's to use Mozilla or Firefox".

I'm just suggesting that you try to use standards-compatible browsers that unb was originally designed for. Please see the sections under

I have given you the download links for some Gecko-based browsers. Installing them under Windows is a piece of cake, and will give you different options for browsing. It's interesting to see how different browsers display the same page!

Realize that this message board is not for myself to read, and I'm not going to begin to try to get my users to switch to another browser -- that's completely unreasonable.  If I sound rude, forgive me, but think about what you're telling me to do here.

Does anyone know why this is not displaying at ALL in the widest-used browser on the planet when I have no problems with the original Modern?
