Subject: RSS feed questions
Are there any options for what is included in the RSS file?  For example, I tried using this url:

http://forum.psi-im.org/forum/5;?req=rss

I was hoping that it would include the most recent articles just from that one forum, but it seems that all updates from all forums was output.

I couldn't find anything in the docs or FAQ, or by searching here.

Other requests:

  • specify number of articles returned
  • RSS feed for new/updated threads, as opposed to posts
  • I don't like the "re: " prepended to the titles, where is that string defined?

The tooltip over the RSS link near the forum name should tell you what the feed will include. There is no way to change that now. The feed from the overview page includes all posts and the ones from the forums only stuff from that forum. Not sure right now, I don't use those feeds. And it's late now...

"Re:"? Did you try that option in the admin settings somewhere? Could be that it's linked with the "Re" option for the forums overview.

Ok, I see the different URL.  http://forum.psi-im.org/forum.php?req=rss&type=1&f… did what I wanted.

What does the type parameter do?

It should select from one of the two feed modes. But another mode than in the link may not work.

That's explained in rss.inc.php:
// 1 - List threads in given forum, ORDER BY thread start date DESC
// 2 - List all posts, ORDER BY last post date DESC

And type 1 needs a forum ID. If no mode is specified, 2 is selected.
